National Roundups - Week ending October 13, 2013


David Witkowski and Dylan Webb shared the shutout and Jack Aylward scored in the first period as the Vipers edged Seacoast, 1-0; and Aaron Harmon scored twice in the second period as the Warriors edged the Wizards, 2-1.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Aaron Harmon, Warriors


In the North, AJ McKearney scored with 18 seconds left to give the Warriors a 5-4 decision over the Blazers - Pat Cooper with a hat trick, and Nate Dimeco and Alex Graves two assists apiece in the win and Tom Schofield 1-1-2 in the loss.

Assabet had a win and a tie in the South. Dan Desmarais scored with 7:54 left to give Assabet a 2-1 decision over Seacoast; and Maxwell Ray scored with 7:51 left to give Assabet a 1-1 tie with the Vipers, who got a second-period goal from Swaczyk;

In the other game, Matt Hendrick had a goal and two assists, No. 2 posted three assists, No. 2 had two helpers and Gavin Cram pitched a shutout as the Blazers beat Seacoast, 6-0.

PLAYER OF THR WEEK: Pat Cooper, Warriors


Assabet had two wins and a tie. Babik Amini wore the hat and Juston Montepeluso had two assists in a 4-1 win over Seacoast; Montepeluso had a goal and an assist in a 3-1 win over the Warriors - and Assabet and the Monarchs played to a 2-2;

Mitch McKay and TJ Aiello both scored five goals, John Smyth had two goals and three assists, Billy McCann 2-2-4, Josiah Brown and Ryan Barrett 1-2-3 apiece, Jack Julian 1-1-2 and Max Dorrington and Joe Hill two assists apiece as the Vipers Elites scored a big win over the Advantage; Andrew Calvert scored the winner with 7:33 left and Will Garofoli and O’Driscoll both scored twice as the Vipers Selects edged the Blazers, 5-4; and the Advantage topped the Blazers, 6-1.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Justin Montepeluso, Assabet


Alex Douidi wore the hat and had an assist as the Monarchs defeated the Blazers, 6-2; Tom Ferry had two goals and an assist and Kevin McCallum 1-1-2 as the Vipers downed the Wizards, 4-1; Roberto Owens amd Colby Gamache (2-1-3) scored with 1:47 and 1:26 left to give the Avalanche a 5-5 tie with Seacoast, which got 1-1-2 from Jake Shapiro and two assists from Sergei Kirlin; and Nick Horsfull and Kevin Barrera scored 48 seconds apart in the first period as the Knight topped the Blazers, 4-1.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Alex Douidi, Monarchs


In the North, Derek Amaral wore a natural hat and Max Schilling had two assists as Pro Ambitions defeated the Blazers, 7-3.

Seacoast won twice in the South. Dante Ceppetelli scored twice in a 3-1 victory over the Monarchs - and Ceppetelli scored twice in a 4-1 win over the Blazers;

Owen Bewley wore the hat and Anthony Attardo, Declan Guarino and Jack Gerstein all posted 1-1-2 as the Blazers topped the Vipers, 7-2 - Brenden Henehan with both goals in the loss; Reid Demain wore a natural hat in a 2:34 span of the first period and finished with four goals, Aiden Brenner posted 2-2-4, Quinlan Kerr 1-2-3 and Derek Greer two assists as the Avalanche topped Assabet, 9-3 - Kevin Martin with two goals in the loss; the Rangers edged the Advantage, 4-3; and Assabet nipped the Advantage, 4-3.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: Dante Ceppetelli, Seacoast


The Advantage had a win and a tie against the Cyclones in the North, winning, 9-1, and tying, 6-6;

Milo Scut pitched a shutout and Mike Cashell scored in the second period as the Rangers nipped the Warriors, 2-0; and Brendan Donnelly scored twice, snapping a 2-2 tie with 4:39 left, and Teagan Dolan had 1-1-2 as the Warriors defeated the Rangers, 4-2.

In the South, Zack Sinclair wore the hat, Collin Lightbody scored twice, Max Sherman had 1-1-2 and Sean Noonan two assists as the Knights scored a big win over Seacoast; and Paul Marino and Brody Upton both delivered 2-1-3, R.J. Kavey also scored twice, Nathan Holmes had 1-1-2 and Will Anderson two assists as the Blazers topped Seacoast, 9-2 - Tyler Curtis with both goals in the loss.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Mile Schut, Rangers


Mike Fabiano (1-1-2) scored the winner with 5:31 left, Kevin Thompson posted a goal and two assists and Finn Granara also had a goal and an assist as the Red Wings edged the Blazers, 4-3 - Nikolas Barnes with two goals in the loss; Kevin Cronin and Connor Fryberger scored 1:50 apart late in the second period and the Blazers topped the Advantage, 4-2; and Tyson Scanlon scored twice and Chris Palermo pitched a shutout as the Sharks defeated the Chiefs, 4-0.
